PAPUA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province. On Monday, 9 September 2024, the 501 Task Forces, particularly the Faankahrio Post led by First Lieutenant Rahman Nur Rumagia, engaged in a Social Communication (Komsos) activity with Community Figures of Faankahrio Village, Aifat Timur Tengah District. This activity not only demonstrated the Faankahrio community's pivotal role in maintaining security in the region but also empowered them, making them feel integral to the region's safety. This role is not only crucial but also greatly appreciated for the stability and development of the area.
Underlining the Soldiers' role, the Commander of the 501 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, underscored the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs around the Post. Therefore, through Social Communication with Community Figures of Faankahrio Village, the 501 Soldiers sought to engage the community in a shared responsibility to maintain security in the region. This partnership is vital and a bond that unites us all for the stability that supports the smooth development of the Faankahrio area and its surroundings.
The activity, which took place in the Post’s yard, was attended by Community Figures and residents who engaged in enthusiastic discussions in a friendly atmosphere. 1LT Rahman conveyed the importance of the role and responsibility of all components of the Faankahrio community and the HABEMA Task Forces in maintaining security in the region. In response to this presentation, all components of the Faankahrio Village community, including Religious Leaders and Community Figures, also provided input and suggestions at the meeting. Their enthusiasm and engagement were palpable, inspiring, and motivating to everyone present. They appreciated the HABEMA's efforts to routinely hold Komsos meetings, strengthening the synergy between the TNI and the community and helping create a safe and conducive atmosphere in Faankahrio. After the activity, Mr. Lukas Waymbewer, one of the Community Figures, said, "Thank you, Commander 501, the Faankahrio region is safe. God bless you". This sense of unity and shared responsibility, coupled with the community's enthusiasm and engagement, makes everyone, from the Task Forces to the Faankahrio community, feel included and part of the collective effort.
Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 501 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct a Social Communication activity with Community Figures of Faankahrio Village. His words: "The 501 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized, valued, and respected for their efforts. It gives everyone a sense of hope and optimism about the region's future development.
